Sifu Mobile Structure Mechanic Explained: Guard Breaks and Focus

By David Lin, Action Game Specialist

Health wins brawls; structure wins Sifu. Understand the guard meter and bosses melt.

The meter that matters

Every fighter has structure: a guard gauge that fills as they block and parry. A full gauge means a guard break and a free punish. Your own gauge works the same way, which is why turtling behind blocks loses fights.

Building enemy structure fast

Parries are the best source, which is why the parry vs dodge choice matters. Heavy finishers and focus attacks come next. Against Yang, parrying his heavy finisher twice nearly breaks him outright.

Protecting your own

Your structure recovers when you are not blocking. Dodge out of pressure to reset it, or answer with parries that damage the attacker's gauge instead. Never hold block through a full boss combo.

Structure loop: parry to fill theirs, dodge to protect yours, punish every break with your hardest combo.

Pair this with the best early skills and even the hardest bosses start on a timer.
